Shade that lasts longer than a Louisiana summer.
Insulated aluminum patio covers, built by Donnie Grubbs crews in West Monroe, Bossier City and across North Louisiana since 1976. Free estimates, military and senior discounts.
A patio cover that actually cools the patio.
A lot of patio covers are a thin sheet of metal on posts. They block the sun and then radiate the heat right back down on you by three in the afternoon. We build ours with Structall insulated roof panels: a foam core laminated between two aluminum skins. The panels block the sun, stop the heat, and give you a clean finished ceiling underneath that is ready for a fan and lights.
The result is a covered patio in West Monroe or Bossier City that you can use in July, not just in October.

What we build
Attached patio covers
The most common job we do. The cover ties into your existing roof or fascia, runs out over the slab, and lands on square aluminum posts. We match the trim color to your home and finish the ceiling so it looks like it was part of the house from day one.
Freestanding covers and carports
When the cover cannot tie into the house, or you want shade over a pool deck, a boat, or a second parking spot, we build it freestanding on its own posts and footings.
Pergolas
An aluminum lattice pergola gives you filtered shade and a defined outdoor room without closing off the sky. It never needs painting and will not rot, warp or feed termites the way a wood pergola will after a few wet Louisiana springs.
Fans, lights and screens
Because the ceiling is solid, we can run wiring for ceiling fans, recessed lights and outlets. Many customers add screen panels later to turn the cover into a full screen room, and we design with that in mind.

How the job goes
You call or send the estimate form. We come out, look at the slab, the roofline and where the water needs to go, and measure. You get a price. Once you approve it we order the panels cut to your dimensions, then a crew installs the cover, usually in a day or two depending on size and electrical work. We clean up and walk it with you before we leave.
Serving North Louisiana, Southern Arkansas, East Texas and Central Mississippi
We build patio covers from our West Monroe showroom for homeowners in Monroe, Ruston, Bastrop, Shreveport, Haughton, Benton, Minden and the surrounding towns, as well as Southern Arkansas, Marshall, Texas, and the Jackson, Mississippi area.

Patio cover questions
How much does a patio cover cost in West Monroe or Bossier City?
It depends on the size of the slab, whether the cover attaches to the house or stands on its own, the panel thickness, and any electrical work for fans and lights. We do not price from a chart. We come out, measure, and give you a free written price for the whole job.
What is an insulated patio cover?
A roof made of Structall panels, which have a foam insulation core laminated between two aluminum skins. Unlike a single sheet of metal, the insulation stops heat from radiating down onto the patio, and the underside is a finished ceiling that can hold fans and lights.
Can you add screens or glass later?
Yes. Our patio covers are designed so screen panels or glass can be added to the openings later, turning the cover into a screen room or glass room. Tell us at the estimate if that is the plan so we size the posts and beams for it.
Do I need a permit for a patio cover?
Most attached covers in Ouachita, Bossier and Caddo parishes need a building permit. We handle the paperwork as part of the job and build to code.
How long does installation take?
Once the panels arrive, most covers go up in one to two days. Larger freestanding covers or jobs with a lot of electrical work can take a little longer. We will give you a schedule with your estimate.
Will an aluminum pergola rust or need painting?
No. Aluminum does not rust and the factory finish does not need painting. It will not rot, warp or attract termites the way wood does in our climate.
